As the end of 2022 approached, the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UBB held an Academic Writing for Scientific Works Workshop at the Swiss-Bel Hotel Pangkalpinang for students from the cohorts of 2016 to 2019.
This writing workshop is part of a series of collaborative activities between the Department of Political Science at UBB and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in the CitRes-Net Norhed II Program until 2026.
According to the Coordinator of the Academic Writing for Scientific Works Workshop at the Department of Political Science, Komang Jaka Ferdian, this activity serves as an additional stimulus for students to enhance their skills in preparing their theses.
“Participants of this workshop are only intended for students who have at least drafted a thesis proposal. Students who have not drafted a proposal are not eligible to participate in this activity,” Komang Jaka Ferdian explained.
To ensure the success of this activity, UBB Rector Ibrahim attended as a speaker.
According to Ibrahim, completing a thesis does not require as much energy compared to attending lectures and spending time on theory during lectures. “So, what students need is just determination to complete their studies. A thesis can be completed in one semester. Whereas completing theory takes five semesters. Therefore, make sure not to spend more time completing the thesis than completing the theory,” Ibrahim emphasized.
