As part of its commitment to strengthening research capacity within higher education institutions, the SUSTAIN Project supported the implementation of the Research Methodology Enrichment Series organized in collaboration with the Research Center for Politics and Government (PolGov). The program was designed to enhance methodological skills, particularly among members of the academic community, in managing and analyzing research data to produce more rigorous and relevant research that can contribute to addressing contemporary sustainability challenges.
One of the sessions in the series focused on quantitative data analysis using R, facilitated by Arya Budi, Ph.D. During the training, participants were introduced to fundamental concepts in quantitative data analysis, including different types of data, data grouping techniques, and various analytical methods that can be applied using R. Beyond theoretical discussions, participants also engaged in hands-on exercises that allowed them to practice data management and analysis using the software.
Through an interactive learning approach, participants were given the opportunity to present their analytical outputs and receive direct feedback from the trainer. The session not only strengthened participants’ technical skills in quantitative data analysis but also contributed to the broader goal of enhancing research capacity, a key focus of the SUSTAIN Project. By improving methodological competencies, the program aims to support researchers and academics in producing high-quality research and advancing evidence-based policymaking in the future.
