As part of its commitment to strengthening research capacity within higher education institutions, the SUSTAIN Project collaborated with the Research Center for Politics and Government (PolGov) in organizing the Research Methodology Enrichment Series. The program was designed to enhance the methodological skills of members of the academic community, particularly in managing and analyzing research data, with the aim of producing high-quality research that is relevant to contemporary sustainability challenges.
One of the sessions in the series focused on the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method and was facilitated by A. Sudiana Sasmita, Ph.D. During the session, participants were introduced to the fundamental stages of conducting an SLR, including the basic concepts and principles of the method, literature searching and screening techniques, data extraction and quality assessment processes, and the development of a mini-paper outline. In addition to gaining conceptual knowledge, participants also took part in practical exercises that allowed them to apply each stage of the SLR process directly. Through an interactive learning approach, participants had the opportunity to present the results of their work and receive direct feedback from the trainer. The session not only strengthened participants’ technical understanding of the Systematic Literature Review method but also contributed to the broader goal of enhancing research capacity, one of the key priorities of the SUSTAIN Project. By improving their methodological competencies, participants are expected to produce more rigorous academic research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and evidence-based policymaking in the future.
