Cooperation with NGO to conduct research in Bojonegoro (News on the focus group discussion)

To understand the issues of participation and transparency practices in the governance of Natural Resources (SDA) in Bojonegoro Regency, efforts are needed to map out how the public consumes information and uses media, along with the evolving discourse patterns within the Bojonegoro community.

This serves as one of the foundations of Ademos, which today collaborates with Politics and Government (PolGov) at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) to conduct a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Media Consumption Research and Discourse Analysis-Social Networks in Bojonegoro Regency.

The event held at the Eastern Bokonegoro Hotel area involves all stakeholders of Bojonegoro Regency Government policies, attended by various cross-sectoral government agencies and institutions. This includes Village Heads from the Ring-1 Migas areas in the Gayam and Kalitidu Districts, as well as representatives of community organizations.

“This is part of a series of collaborative research initiatives with PolGov UGM regarding media consumption research and discourse analysis-social networks in Bojonegoro Regency,” said Ademos Chairman, Mohammad Khudori, to blokBojonegoro.com on Monday (12/9/2022).

He explained that there are three stages conducted by combining three methods. First, media and social media analysis through big data analysis to map out discourses and social networks related to the oil and gas industry in Bojonegoro Regency using big data analysis methods. This method was conducted in August 2022.

Second, the research will gather data through the organization of Focus Group Discussions (FGD) as one method to gather views on how stakeholders obtain information and convey ideas, as well as what issues are being discussed by the community regarding oil and gas governance.

Lastly, a survey will be conducted on the perceptions of policy makers in Bojonegoro Regency regarding the production and consumption of public information related to oil and gas governance.

“The goal is to identify the most effective media goals, understand the information channels and media used by stakeholders to convey their views, and how this media is implemented and can provide feedback,” he concluded.

As for the key topics of the FGD, they include how stakeholders obtain information about the governance of the oil and gas industry in Bojonegoro, what media are used to obtain this information, and how stakeholders express their opinions and aspirations regarding the oil and gas industry.
