From 11–16 July 2023, partner universities in Indonesia under the SUSTAIN Project umbrella held a project meeting at two locations: Kupang and Rote Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). A total of 20 representatives from partner universities—Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Nusa Cendana (UNDANA), Politeknik Negeri Pontianak (POLNEP), and Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB),m attended the meeting.
The meeting was organized to further discuss project plans focusing on research collaboration and joint publications among partners, guided by the framework of citizen participation and engagement. The collaboration covers four main thematic areas: mining, fisheries, social forestry, and water resources. In addition, the meeting included a field trip to a lobster farming site on Rote Island, aimed at providing participants with firsthand insights into research topics relevant to the collaborative research agenda.
